To celebrate the 2015 International Day of Cooperatives, COPAC will host an event on 8 July 2015 at United Nations Headquarters in New York under the theme “Choose cooperatives, choose equality: Paths to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals”.
The event will feature statements from COPAC representatives, UN officials, heads of state and cooperatives, as well as a presentation of COPAC’s research on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The celebration will take place as a side event to the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, to highlight the achievements of cooperatives in equality in the context of the post-2015 development agenda currently under negotiation by UN Member States.
The event is free and open to the public.
